Durum Italia S.r.l. Altamura (Ba) -, come
from the common strategies of Molino Mininni and Molino
Capriati & Loiudice to create a modern enterpreneurial reality,
is now trying for advertising and promoting the "fine hard
wheat semolina" for bread making, and also other products
of the "hard wheat zone"(Mugia territory-Puglia), in foreign
markets, above all in European markets.
The milling plants, which Durum Italia refers to, are very old,
one of these, Molino Mininni, was established in 1877.
These firms have the capability to innovate more and more themselves,
preserving those technical aspects of durum wheats grinding, that
give to durum wheat semolina those carachteristics, which are the
basis of the success of the "Bread of Altamura" all over
the world.
This kind of bread is going to obtain the DOP- Denomination of
Protected Origin, according to the EU Rule 2081/92, thanks to the
durum wheat varieties, ground by Durum Italia with particular
attention.
Durum Italia is so modern and innovativ also thanks to the links
with Universities, National research instituts and professional
men, engaged to find new methods of use of "fine hard wheat
semolina".
